(self-portraits with Alicia)

Alicia is an old friend of mine and roommate. I took this portrait of her years ago, shortly after we meet. After hearing the news that she is moving away to another country, I revisited it with a more retrospective and introspective eye. As I did so, the single photograph turned into a short and very personal exploration on the fluid aspect of identity and the ways we transform ourselves and the other as we live in closeness.
